Asbury Park Boardwalk Reconstruction

Asbury Park Boardwalk Reconstruction

Tropical Storm Sandy caused extensive damage to a majority of the Asbury Park Boardwalk in 2012. Grant Engineering worked as the engineering subconsultant to B&B Hi-Tech surveying to create the Boardwalk reconstruction drawings and specifications. Reconstruction of the FEMA-funded project was completed by the City and remains a major attraction during late Spring thru early Fall. The design involved drilled concrete piles to reduce vibration of pile driving on the adjacent structures, including the historic Convention Hall. However, the City opted for drilled timber piles to reduce construction cost.
